To complete the programme and receive the prestigious IB Diploma, students must complete six subject groups Language Acquisition (English), Language and Literature (Vietnamese), Sciences, Mathematics, Business Management, and Visual Arts. At the same time, with the aim of enhancing the learning experience and challenging the students in applying knowledge in practice, the DP programme requires students to pass three core subjects which are Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).

– Theory of Knowledge (TOK): provides an opportunity for students to reflect on the nature of knowledge and how we know what we claim to know.

– Extended Essay (EE): 4,000 words in length, created by students themselves with content related to a field or a major in the curriculum.

– Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) activities: are extracurricular activities and projects that reflect the dynamic, collaborative, community-oriented students.

Why should we study the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP)?

Holistic Development of Students’ Knowledge and Skills

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is designed to foster the comprehensive development of students. Its goal is not only to build a strong academic foundation but also to enrich students’ life skills and autonomy, equipping them for success in a constantly changing world.

The IB curriculum encourages students to cultivate an international mindset, specifically fostering an understanding of global issues and a sense of care for their communities and the world around them. Notably, IB emphasizes cultural and linguistic identity; therefore, students are required to study at least two languages. Its holistic and balanced educational approach aims to nurture generations of students who are fully equipped to excel in university and thrive in life.

Admission to Prestigious Universities

Students who hold an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) diploma have greater opportunities to gain admission to prestigious universities worldwide and enjoy a wider range of major selections at the university level. They are also better prepared to meet professional standards and adapt flexibly within international environments. With its high level of rigor and numerous challenges, the IB Diploma Programme offers students valuable opportunities to explore and push their own limits.

Greater Opportunities for University Credit Exemptions

Many universities offer credit exemptions for students who hold an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. This can allow students to reduce the number of required courses and complete their university degrees in a shorter amount of time. The IB Diploma is widely recognized and respected by leading universities around the world. As a result, IB graduates have a greater advantage during the admission process to prestigious universities.

Increased Access to Valuable Scholarships

Students holding an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma have greater opportunities to earn valuable scholarships from universities around the world. Graduates of the program often achieve strong academic results and demonstrate a broad and in-depth grasp of knowledge, enhancing their chances of receiving scholarships.
The IB Programme not only focuses on academic knowledge but also develops essential skills needed for university success, such as research, creativity, critical thinking, communication, and time management. Furthermore, the IB curriculum encourages students to engage in social activities and community service projects. These contributions showcase students’ commitment and social responsibility, further increasing their competitiveness for scholarship opportunities at top universities.
