Learning Pathway

Tesla Education begins with our Early Years Program (EYP) for students starting at 18 months. Students transition to Primary School in Kindergarten to participate in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) and move to secondary school in Grade 6. After successful participation in the Middle Years Program (MYP) culminating in Grade 10, students have the opportunity to achieve the internationally recognized IB Diploma.

LEARNING PATHWAY AT TESLA EDUCATION

Tesla Education is an IB World School. Tesla Education is unique in providing an integrated international curriculum, combining both the high standards set by the National Curriculum (NC) with the rigorous international standards of the IB organisation. Our focus is on inspiring our students to achieve to their best potential and to prepare them for the complex and ever-changing world, so that they can help to positively impact and shape the future.

Early Years

Tesla Early Years (EY) is a three and a half-year programme, beginning at age 18 months to age 5, in cluding 02 programs :

  • The approching IB PYP
  • The IB PYP (International)

These programs have focused on developing the innate curiosity of the students. We provide an integrated curriculum based on international standards that includes individual subjects taught in both Vietnamese and English. A focus of the play-based student experience through project-based learning is preparing students for the collaborative and inquiry-driven environment of the PYP beginning in Kindergarten.

Primary School

Tesla Education is an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) school.

The Tesla PYP programme of six years begins in kindergarten and culminates in Grade 5 where students are required to design, develop, and implement an Exhibition to demonstrate their learning throughout the program. Successful completion of the entire program will allow students to earn a certificate from both the National Curriculum (NC) as well as International Baccalaureate (IB).

The foundation of the Tesla PYP program is the National Curriculum learning outcomes and specialist courses enhanced by the international-standard IB framework taught in English. These are the grade-level knowledge and skills students are expected to attain as they progress through their learning experience.

The foundation of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) is the requirements from the National Curriculum combined with subjects taught in English supplemented by content from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. These are the skills and knowledge that students need to achieve at each grade level throughout their learning journey.

  • The National Curriculum provides the “CONTENT” for students to learn and practice.
  • The IB Programme provides the curriculum and the “METHOD” for students to learn and understand that content. Through analyzing problems, participating in exploratory activities, and facing challenging life situations, teachers and students will collaboratively build the necessary content for study. This approach links all subjects (science, social studies, languages, arts, etc.) into in-depth Inquiry-Based Learning lessons through interdisciplinary themes.

The core goal of the PYP is to develop lifelong learning qualities. As students grow through each grade level, teachers gradually shift the responsibility of learning to the students, enabling them to develop the necessary skills aligned with the IB Learner Profile and helping them succeed in a global environment.

Secondary School

Tesla Education is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).

The MYP is a five-year programme and the DP is a two-year programme. Beginning in Grade 6, students begin the transition from childhood to adolescence by participating in the MYP program through grade 10.

Students will continue with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme in Middle Years (MYP), but the level of English will gradually increase with each grade to prepare them for the entirely English-based two-year Diploma Programme (DP) in High School. Besides traditional subjects, students will also have opportunities to study Arts, Design and Technology, Business Management, Physical Education, and many other extracurricular activities.

For families and the students themselves, this phase is both exciting and challenging. Therefore, we aim to provide maximum support to help students develop naturally and discover their love for learning and society.

The curriculum at Tesla integrates the requirements of the National Curriculum with rigorous International Standards to ensure that all students are capable of completing the demanding two-year DP in grade 11. The foundation of the advanced IB learning method lies in a learner-centered philosophy and holistic development.

Upon completing the entire programme, Tesla graduates will receive the coveted International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, recognized by most prestigious universities worldwide. Additionally, if desired, students can also obtain the National High School Diploma, allowing them to apply to universities in Vietnam.

Why Is IB Different?

IB World Schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programmes of international education that share a powerful vision.**

* Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

** Mission Statement from the IB

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
