Mr. Faizol Musa – Development & Recognition Manager, Southeast Asia & Bangladesh
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Faizol works with schools interested in offering IB progammes and key educational decision makers in the South East Asia region and Pakistan. His work also involves increasing the recognition of IB programmes by universities and governments. He has built an excellent reputation and strong relationships with various stakeholders such as schools, associations of schools, universities, media, and governments.
Faizol began his career in education management at the British Council in Malaysia as the Acting Deputy Country Exams Director, where he also held the position of Examinations Services Manager. His last position was Schools Development Manager Indonesia for a provider of international qualifications for five to 19 year-olds before joining the IB in 2013.
Dr. Christopher Poole-Johnson – Lecturer in Corporate Communication at Western Sydney University Vietnam
Dr. Poole-Johnson has extensive experience in education and commerce in Southeast Asia.
During the 1980s and 1990s, he worked at international advertising agencies in Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar; provided services to multinational corporations as well as large local businesses, and became an expert in brand development.
After earning a Master’s degree from Curtin University, Australia (in 2003), he was appointed Academic Director at Curtin International College in Medan, Indonesia. The following year, he became the Director of the Bachelor of Commerce Program, teaching at Curtin University’s Jakarta campus. From 2007 to present, he is the Academic Director of Saigon International College.
He joined the above organizations from the founding stage and strongly developed their operating network in Asia. In Indonesia and Vietnam, he has worked at local educational institutions and has considerable cross-cultural competence.
Mr. Tim Vanderpool – Director of Studies of Tesla
Mr. Tim Vanderpool has nearly 30 years of teaching experience in the education industry. Mr. Tim grew up in California, attended Occidental College and spent the first 14 years of his educational career in a Los Angeles coastal suburb. His international teaching experience began in 2005 in Tokyo, where he spent another 9 years teaching IB Physics and developing a top-notch curriculum. For the past 6 years, Mr. Tim has devoted his time and energy to the transformation of teaching and learning methods at international schools in Ho Chi Minh City as their Curriculum Director.
Mr. Tim has a Master’s degree in Technology & Instructional Design, a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and since 2003 has been a National Board-certified teacher. He is looking forward to making Tesla the third school that he helps achieve the IB World School authorization.
Ms. Sandy Lee – Student at King’s College London
Sandy is currently a final year student majoring in Business Administration at King’s College London. Having Taiwanese nationality, when she was young, she lived in Ho Chi Minh City and obtained the IB Diploma in 2018. Sandy has extensive experience with social enterprises as well as community projects, which contribute to directing her interest to the topic of corporate social responsibility. She is also a member of King’s 100 – a group of outstanding students who work directly with King’s College London to serve the goals of the school community.
